Since 2019, I’ve held a pivotal role as a member of the Board of Directors for The Mosaic Project of South Texas, ascending to the position of President in 2022. Harnessing the robust array of skills I developed during my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve significantly amplified the organization’s reach and impact, fostering numerous community partnerships. These strategic alliances have brought about a profound and positive shift for the LGBTQIA+ community in the Coastal Bend region.

My leadership has been instrumental in strategically planning and executing the annual Pride month celebration in June. This pivotal event has markedly enhanced LGBTQIA+ visibility and tolerance within the Corpus Christi area, while underscoring our community’s resilience and formidable potential as a driving economic force.

Under my stewardship, we successfully operationalized a CDC grant, in collaboration with the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation. This grant, recently awarded for its second year, has been vital in ensuring free access to HIV/STD testing across a 12-county region.

When I assumed leadership of the board, it comprised only six members. Recognizing the value of a diverse and inclusive board, I undertook the task of expanding it to 15 members. Comprised solely of volunteer contributors, our board now represents a wide spectrum of industries and demographics, each member contributing to our mission in unique and vital ways.

Our influence and effectiveness have transcended local borders under my guidance, with the organization joining forces with both USAP and InterPride. Bolstered by an exemplary executive committee, we have achieved more than a twofold increase in our annual sponsorships and fundraising efforts, demonstrating the strength of our collective commitment and dedication to our cause.
